How to use Add page numbers

PDFVelora prints a number on every page of your PDF. Put it at the top or bottom of the page, on the left, in the centre or on the right, and choose between the number on its own and a Page 1 of 10 style in English, French or Arabic. Set the number of the first page, for example to continue the numbering of an earlier part, and the font size. A preview shows where the numbers will land.

  1. Upload your PDF

    Drop the PDF on the page or choose it from your device.

  2. Choose position and format

    Pick one of six positions, then the plain number or Page 1 of 10 and its language.

  3. Set the first number and size

    Enter the number for the first page and a font size from 6 to 72 pt. Check the preview.

  4. Download the numbered PDF

    Start processing and download the result.

Questions about Add page numbers

Can I start numbering from a number other than 1?

Yes. Enter the first number and the following pages count on from there. With the Page X of Y format, the total is the last number printed.

Can I write “Page 1 of 10” in French or Arabic?

Yes. The Page X of Y format comes in English (Page 1 of 10), French (Page 1 sur 10) and Arabic (صفحة 1 من 10).

Can I leave the cover page without a number?

Numbers are added to every page. To keep the cover unnumbered, separate it with Split PDF, number the other pages (starting at 2 if the cover counts), then join them again with Merge PDF.

Do numbers work on landscape or rotated pages?

Yes. Numbers are placed on the page as it's displayed, so landscape and rotated pages get them in the right spot and the right way up.

Is adding page numbers free?

Yes. Without an account you can run 3 tasks a day, and a free account gives you 5. Pro and Business plans have no daily limit.

What happens to my file after numbering?

Files are encrypted in transit and deleted automatically: after 2 hours for visitors and after 24 hours for account holders, unless you save them to My documents.
