JPG, JPEG, PNG, WEBP · up to 100 MB

Add up to 20 files: each one is processed separately, and you get them back together in one ZIP.

How to use Compress image

Heavy images slow down web pages and get rejected by email and upload forms. PDFVelora re-encodes JPG and WebP images at a lower quality and reduces PNGs to a smaller colour palette, while each file keeps its format and dimensions. Metadata such as the GPS position is removed; the colour profile stays. Choose Light, Recommended or Strong, compress up to 20 images at once, and if an image can't be made smaller, you get the original back unchanged.

  1. Upload your images

Drop JPG, PNG or WebP files on the page, up to 20 at a time.

  2. Choose a compression level

Pick Light, Recommended or Strong, depending on how small the files need to be.

  3. Compress

Start compressing. The result shows how much smaller your images became.

  4. Download

Download the compressed image, or a ZIP of all of them if you uploaded several.

Questions about Compress image

Which compression level should I choose?

Light saves JPG and WebP at quality 85 and only recompresses PNGs, with no visible difference. Recommended (quality 72, PNGs reduced to 256 colours) makes files much smaller and stays sharp on screens. Strong (quality 50, 64 colours) gives the smallest files, but fine details may soften.

How much smaller will my images get?

It depends on the image: large photos straight from a camera and PNG screenshots usually shrink the most, images already optimised for the web the least. The result shows the size before and after. If compressing wouldn't help, the original file is returned, so nothing ever gets bigger.

Is the image's metadata removed?

Yes. EXIF data, including the camera model, capture date and GPS position, is removed: it can make up a good part of a small file and reveal where a photo was taken. The photo keeps its orientation and colour profile.

Does compression change the format or dimensions?

No. A JPG stays a JPG, a PNG stays a PNG and a WebP stays a WebP, with the same width and height. To make an image smaller in pixels too, use Resize image.

Is image compression free?

Yes. Without an account you can run 3 tasks a day, and a free account gives you 5. Pro and Business plans have no daily limit.

What happens to my images after compression?

Files are encrypted in transit and deleted automatically: after 2 hours for visitors and after 24 hours for account holders, unless you save them to My documents.
