How to use HEIC to PNG

PNG stores every pixel exactly, which makes it the format to pick when a photo from your iPhone is going to be edited, cut out or used in a design rather than simply shared. PDFVelora decodes each HEIC or HEIF file, turns it upright and writes it as a PNG at full resolution, with its EXIF data and colour profile. Questions about HEIC to PNG

Should I choose PNG or JPG?

Choose PNG when you will keep editing the image or need exact pixels, for instance for design or print work. Choose HEIC to JPG when you want a smaller file to email or upload: a photo saved as PNG is usually much larger than the same photo in JPG or HEIC.

Does converting to PNG reduce quality?

No further quality is lost: the PNG holds exactly the pixels decoded from the HEIC, at full resolution. Your phone already compressed the HEIC when it took the photo, though, so converting can't bring back detail that was discarded then.

Are EXIF data and colours kept?

Yes. The capture date, camera settings and GPS position (if your phone recorded one) are copied into the PNG along with the colour profile, and the photo is turned upright according to its orientation tag. If the HEIC holds several pictures, the primary one is converted.

Can I convert many photos at once?

Yes, up to 20 per conversion, returned together in a ZIP. If one file can't be read, for example because it is damaged, it is left out and listed, and the others are still converted.

Is HEIC to PNG free?

Yes. Without an account you can run 3 tasks a day, and a free account gives you 5. Pro and Business plans have no daily limit.

What happens to my files afterwards?

Files are encrypted in transit and deleted automatically: after 2 hours for visitors and after 24 hours for account holders, unless you save them to My documents.
