How to use Repair PDF
A PDF can be damaged by an interrupted download, a faulty export or a storage error, and then refuses to open or loses pages. PDFVelora rebuilds the file's cross-reference table and page tree, recovers what it can and writes a clean copy. Before you download it, the repaired file is reopened to check that it is sound. A summary tells you how many problems were fixed and how many pages were recovered.

Questions about Repair PDF
Can every damaged PDF be repaired?
Not always. Files with a broken internal structure are usually recovered, but if the content itself is missing or overwritten, there is nothing left to rebuild. In that case you get an error message instead of a broken file.
What if my PDF has no problems?
You still get a cleanly rebuilt copy, and the summary tells you that no problems were found.
Can I repair a password-protected PDF?
If the PDF asks for a password to open, unlock it first with Unlock PDF. Files that only restrict printing or editing are repaired and keep their restrictions.
Is repairing a PDF free?
Yes. Without an account you can run 3 tasks a day, and a free account gives you 5. Pro and Business plans have no daily limit.
What happens to my file after the repair?
Files are encrypted in transit and deleted automatically: after 2 hours for visitors and after 24 hours for account holders, unless you save them to My documents.
