MP3, WAV, M4A, MP4, MOV or WEBM, up to 500 MB and 3 hours. Video is fine: only its sound is used.

Choosing it helps with short recordings and strong accents.

If you know it, speakers are told apart more reliably.

How to use Transcribe audio & video

Upload a recording, record from your microphone in the browser, or paste a direct link to a public audio or video file. PDFVelora turns the speech into text with word timings, works out who speaks when, and opens the transcript next to a player: click a sentence to hear it, double-click it to correct it, and rename a speaker everywhere at once. Twenty spoken languages are offered, and video is fine: only its sound is used.

  1. Add your recording

Upload an audio or video file, record from your microphone, or paste a link to a public file.

  2. Set language and speakers

Keep automatic detection or choose the spoken language and the number of speakers.

  3. Transcribe

Click Transcribe. Long recordings take a while; you can leave the page open in the background.

  4. Review and export

Listen, correct and name the speakers, then export TXT, DOCX, PDF, SRT or VTT.

Questions about Transcribe audio & video

Which files can I transcribe, and how long can they be?

MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG and FLAC audio, or MP4, MOV and WEBM video, up to 3 hours. Files can be up to 25 MB without an account or on the free plan, and up to 500 MB on Pro and Business. A link must point to the file itself: YouTube pages don't work.

Are the different speakers identified?

Yes, up to 10, detected automatically; giving the number of speakers when you know it makes this more reliable. If voices can't be told apart, everything is put under one speaker, and you can reassign passages and rename speakers yourself.

Can I make subtitles from a video?

Yes. Export SRT or VTT subtitle files timed to the recording, built from the transcript as you corrected it. TXT, Word and PDF exports show the speaker names and timestamps.

Can it summarize a meeting or interview?

Yes. The AI summary gives an overview, the key points and the action items, with who should do what and by when if it was said. It is written by Claude from your corrected transcript, so check important details against the recording.

Is transcription free?

Yes. Without an account you can run 3 tasks a day, and a free account gives you 5. Pro and Business plans have no daily limit.

What happens to my recording?

Files are encrypted in transit and deleted automatically: after 2 hours for visitors and after 24 hours for account holders, unless you save them to My documents.
