How to use Edit PDF

PDFVelora opens your PDF in an online editor. Click a line of existing text to rewrite it, or add new text, pictures, rectangles, circles, lines and arrows anywhere on the page, then drag them into place. Text can be set in a sans-serif, serif or monospaced font, in any colour and size, and Arabic is supported. When you're done, export: your edits are written into the PDF in your browser and the new file downloads straight away.

  1. Upload your PDF

    Drop the PDF on the page or choose it from your device. It opens in the editor as soon as it's uploaded.

  2. Rewrite existing text

    Choose Edit text and click a line to change it. The editor tells you which font the new text uses.

  3. Add text, pictures and shapes

    Place new text, a PNG or JPG picture, rectangles, circles, lines or arrows, and move them where you want.

  4. Export the PDF

    Click Export PDF to download the edited file.

Questions about Edit PDF

How does editing existing text work?

The original line is covered by a box in the background colour and your text is written on top, left-aligned and wrapped to the original width. It uses the PDF's own font when the file contains it in full; otherwise the closest standard font, and you see a warning. Rotated or vertical text can't be edited.

Is the original text removed from the file?

No. The original words stay in the file under the box, so they can still be selected or found by search. Don't use it to hide sensitive information: remove the whole page with Delete pages, or change the source document and make a new PDF.

Are my edits saved if I close the page?

When you're signed in, the editor saves your changes as a draft while you work, so you can reopen the file and carry on. Without an account, export the PDF before you leave.

Can I edit a password-protected PDF?

Not directly. Remove the password with Unlock PDF (you'll need the password), then open the unlocked file in the editor.

Is the PDF editor free?

Yes. Without an account you can run 3 tasks a day, and a free account gives you 5. Pro and Business plans have no daily limit.

What happens to my file after editing?

Files are encrypted in transit and deleted automatically: after 2 hours for visitors and after 24 hours for account holders, unless you save them to My documents.
